Step 9-12 : Building the Hardware
Step 9 : You need now to purchase 1 radio transceiver.
Then you will need a project box to house the unit and some wires to
connect the system.

Please make sure your soldering iron isnt too hot, else it will burn out the boards - This Iron is very cheap and will provide just enough heat to do the job.
ESP Nodemcu Board - £5.50 from the UK ( £2.99 from China but takes 3-4 weeks to arrive)
SMA pigtail for RF Module ( £1 )

2 330 Ohm resistors for the LED's
868mhz Antenna - Half Wave Kobo Touch Version - Or any wifi version - just an example of one, any decent 868mhz one will do
868mhz Quarter Wave Antenna - Fits the GLO, Mini, Touch ( Quarter Wave Version ) or any wifi version
Power and Transmit LED(£0.50)
For the GPS/Kobo Integrated Version
GPS Module with slimline antenna (£6)
For the Kobo integrated version :-
1x 5.1k Ohm resistors
Large Battery
Switch
HT7333 Voltage Regulator
You will need some small m2 bolts for the switch and for the case aswell, detailed in the construction of the various cases.

If you are building a stand alone unit or building it inside the case of the kobo then you will need a GPS module aswell, either use the one you are already using with the Kobo or any that work with the Kobo.
We recommend adding a larger battery for the kobo then it will run for 25 hours plus with no external power, this is much more practial and doesnt put any strain on the USB port in the Kobo powering it externally
You will also need roughly a metre of wire, any 28AWG wire or similar will do, plus a small length of thin rope to make a lanyard for your box.
